Tradescantia Pringlei is native to the mountains of northeastern Mexico. It has pretty purple spotted variegated on its silvery foliage which is unique. Its thin purple stems are adorned with lavender flowers that bloom all summer long in the correct conditions. It is a show stopper in any collection. A Tradescantia we think is completely underrated.

 Toxic to humans and animals

*Please note*

It does not come with the propagation station shown in the pictures. But if you would love one too you can add your own Propagation Station to your basket.

This plant will be sent as a fresh cutting, wrapped in top quality Highland Moss, recycled tissue and biodegradable cling film. A propagation guide will arrive with your cutting.

How do you use the water propagation method for my Tradescantia Pringlei?

  1. Fill an empty jar, glass or whatever you find suitable, with fresh water. (Try mimicking soil conditions by using an opaque container).
  2. Place your new cutting in the water making sure the node/aerial root is submerged. This is where your Tradescantia new roots will grow from.
  3. Let roots develop until they are at least 3-5 cm in length. Once those roots have formed you should start to see secondary roots coming off them. The stronger the
root system, the best chance of survival your tradescantia pringlei will have when moving over into your chosen substrate.
  4. Once the Tradescantia Pringlei has grown a strong root system simply pot it up into the appropriate substrate of your choosing. We have the perfect pre-made Houseplant Soil Mix  for it, just in case.
